How We Improved UX and Website Ranking on Google SERP for a Translation Company?

About the Client:

Based in Assam, India, the client is a reputed language services provider with a focus on delivering high-quality translation services to the South Asian Market.

Their team of professional translators specialize in North Indian languages like Hindi and Bengali as well as rare northeastern languages like Kokborok, Bodo and Mizo.

Their global portfolio for translation includes languages of Arabic and some African origins.

Need Mapping:

The client was looking for a complete revamp and redesign of their current website and wanted a capable team that they could trust. They were also looking for basic Search Engine Optimization services for the website for 3 months.

Eager to expand their digital reach and generate more sales-ready leads, they approached us by filling up the contact form on our website.

Key Challenges Faced:

  • The current website was outdated and unappealing design that required complete revamping.
  • SEO techniques were not very effective due to ineffective design and poor content.
  • The website had a high load-time leading to unfavourable SEO score.
  • Even with all the necessary improvements and corrections, it was an uphill task to get the website ranked on the first page of Google SERP in India, the U.S. and the U.K. within merely 3 months.

The Agency Couch Approach: Exceeding Delivery Expectations with Incredible Results:

  • The project started around December 2018 with the development phase going up to mid-February 2019. Immediately after the completion of development and the launch of the website, the SEO work kick-started and went on for the next three months.
  • We rebuilt the website on WordPress with a modern-looking, SEO-friendly theme. We set up the theme and imported all the content provided by the client, while the digital team created a strategy to achieve better SEO scores.
  • To optimize load-time, we optimized the site with bare-minimum custom CSS and optimized the website text content and images to reduce the page size.
  • The search engine results in the U.S. and the U.K. markets were mostly in favour of the bigger brands. So instead of targeting the more competitive short-tail keywords, we started with 5 long-tail keywords. We created off-page SEO content from scratch, keeping user needs & search engine algorithms in mind. Further, we also did a complete technical audit of the website and fixed errors that were causing poor experience for visitors.

Key Results & Impact:

  • Achieved loading time of ~2 seconds for the website.
  • Re-structured our code and website content so that it’s easily readable by search engine crawlers and bots.
  • Improved website user experience and made the website rank higher on Google SERP.
  • Increased lead generation for the client and played a role in boosting their digital conversions.
